Life at 50

I don't suppose its unusual for the occasion of a 50th birthday to provoke a degree of introspection and retrospection. Fortunately, as my day approaches, I can agree with the words of one of my favorite gospel songs, "it is well with my soul."

Just a glimpse of our lives in recent days tells the story...

On Friday, Brenda and I went to our oldest grandson's third to the last T-ball game. They won...and so did the other team because no one keeps score....

Dreams

I tend to regard dreams, visions, prophetic utterances, etc. only to the degree they are objectively corroborated and/or otherwise proven. A few in my life have passed that test, and a few others remain in the pending file of my mind.

That said, I wonder if anyone else has been experiencing heightened dream activity recently like I have. My "dreams" have tended to be more like phone conversations and seldom involved any images over the years. (They have inspired a lot of my studies and...

Bowling

A few weeks ago our whole family went bowling. It was such a great time. We had two lanes. Our two oldest grandsons were on the lane with bumpers; our daughter and I were on that lane too. Thank goodness for the bumpers or else I would have been playing gutter ball.

Our two oldest grandsons had such a great time with this adventure. Our youngest grandson who is 9 months old got passed around from family member to family member the whole time. He loved...

Softball

Summer Softball started today. Although it was far from summer weather...it was a cloudy and windy 41 degree temperature. Let me tell you, it was cold!

We had two back to back games to play. They won the first game 12 to 1 and the second game they lost 13 to 10. Two of our three grandsons were there and cheered when their grandpa or dad/uncle got up to bat.

All and all it was fun time.

Horton Hears a Who

This weekend the new Dr. Seuss movie Horton Hears a Who is suppose to be in theaters.

When our children were little we read this book quite a few times, it was one of our favorites along with a few other Dr. Seuss books. We liked the very true and main phrase in the book, A persons a person, no matter how small. Our children heard this story and now our grandchildren do.

We probably won't see the movie until it's out on DVD, but we really did...

One of the requirements to be president of the U.S. is that you have to be a natural born citizen. Schwarzenegger was born in Austria. He did not become a citizen until the 80's I believe.
