You wrote: I further disagree with [Squeakys] statement: Because we can have that same divine nature that Jesus had and we won't be God.
I think that when Squeaky says we wont be God, he means THE only true God, Yahweh the Father and Creator of heaven and earth. However, if I understand Wayseeker correctly, he means the term God as the exalted King or Ruler, the One who was given all power in heaven and earth, the Head of all men, Yahshua.
As I see it, considering what it seems each of you actually mean, both are right. Yahshua isnt THE only true God, but He certainly is the One His Father gave all power, authority, judgment and made both Lord and Christ. As such He can correctly be called God. Moreover, though no man, including Yahshua Himself, can be THE God, Yahweh the Father, those who overcome will be gods in the resurrection inasmuch as they, too, will be exalted above angels.
Confusion like this is why I am generally specific about who I mean when I speak of the God of the Bible by referring to Him as such or by His unique name or title (e.g. Yahweh, the Father). It is also why, though I consider it tehnically accurate, I dont generally refer to Yahshua or any other man as God or gods. I guess Id rather communicate than argue over semantics.
