Who do YOU say Christ is? |

Agreement that He is the Christ, the Son of the Living God, is assumed... (Mt 16:16), so the question is really what/who, if anything, else do you say He is?

SaltedPeter says, Obviously the Father sent the Son into the world (John 16:28, 1st John 3:8, 4:9-14 etc). But if the Father sends the Son, then as he can't send himself, the Father cannot be the Son (Jesus) but is another distinct person. xxxxx Andrew's thoughts, So we both believe God did not come Himself, but rather God sent His Son ?? Bible512 quotes, 1John 2:27 "But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him". then says, Yeah, I know if that verse is true then it could put a lot of bible teachers out of business, who make fortunes selling their interpretations via books, tapes, video's and DVD's, not to mention training schools. xxxxx Andrew's thoughts, Jesus' brother James speaks of two wisdoms, one that comes from man here on earth, and then one that comes from heaven above. James 3:14-16, 17-18 It is the kingdom of God that dwells within a follower of Jesus Christ. And the Holy Spirit from within comforts, teaches and helps a believer 24/7 forever. The kingdom of heaven is yet to come after Jesus' return. summary; The words of Jesus Christ alone proves most church leaders and there followers here on earth to be liars. xxxxx MAY THE GOD OF OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST, ONE DAY BLESS US ALL...Ephesians 1:17, 17-23 references NKJ,KJ Andrew |

My reply: Please don't put words into my mouth, I never said this and resent your claiming that I did. God did come himself, in the person of his Son, Jesus Christ. You see, God is not just the Father alone, God is Father and also the Son (Hebrews 1: and also Holy Spirit (Acts 5:3-4). I said Apparently you dont believe Jesus or Paul. Jesus said the Father is the only true God. And Paul said there is only one God for us the Father. So maybe you shouldnt be trying to put words in God's mouth. John 17:1-3 1        Jesus spoke these words, lifted up His eyes to heaven, and said: "Father, the hour has come. Glorify Your Son, that Your Son also may glorify You, 2        "as You have given Him authority over all flesh, that He should give eternal life to as many as You have given Him. 3        "And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent. (NKJ) 1 Cor 8:6 6        yet for us there is one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we for Him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, through whom are all things, and through whom we live. (NKJ) |

I'd like to reply to Squeeky's quaotation of 1st Corinthians 8:6: Though there be that are called gods, whether in heaven or on earth; as there are gods many, and lords many. Yet to us there is one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we unto him; and one lord, Jesus Christ, through whom are all things, and we through him. (1st Corinthians 8:5,6-ASV).
This chapter commences with an examination of various foods offered to idols (verse 1), and then the eating of such foods (verse 4). Paul continues to then make a contrast between these idols, and the one true God at verse 4. At verse 5 Paul then distinguishes between these idols whom he terms so-called gods, and the one true God of the Scriptures. He then goes onto say in verse 5 that in contrast to the one true God, there are many lords and gods. This is a direct reference to these aforementioned false idols of verse 1, and it is important to note that Paul used and links together both of the terms god and lord, as if they were equivalent terms. Then in verse 6, the text does not state that ONLY God the Father is alone God. The text rather states that there is one God, and that the Father is himself this one God. So Scripture does not contradict the fact that the Son (Hebrews 1: So this problem is resolved if we understand that the terms God and Lord are interchangeable, their being equivalent terms used at 1st Corinthians 8:6 to distinguish between the Father and the Son each as deity. So to call the Son Lord doesnt imply a lack of deity on the Sons part. A similar example in the Old Testament is the use of the term elohim (God) at Genesis 1, but YHWH (LORD), at chapter two. These two terms are interchangeable, and dont imply two completely different Gods, or two levels of deity for two separate divine beings, because theyre simply interchangeable terms. So elohim of Genesis 1:1, 1:2 and 1:3 etc, is also said to be YHWH of Genesis 2:5, 2:7 and 2:8, theyre not different deities, but one Gods different titles. So with consideration to the hermeneutical background, which weve now discovered in Genesis, notice that at John 20:28, Jesus Christ is called both Lord and also God within the same verse, just as at Psalm 35:23-24, from which John was originally quoting, Yahweh himself is also called both LORD (YHWH) and God within the same verse. John is therefore applying the divine name YHWH from Psalm 35:23-24 directly to Jesus at John 20:28! So in each case, both titles are applicable to the same person. Then at Matthew 11:25 God the Father is here called Lord (Kurios): the Lord of heaven which according to some, a lesser deity, because at 1st Corinthians 8:6 you claimed that Lord (Kurios) as applied to Jesus Christ, implies an absence of deity! Well then if you are going to be consistent, with your own previous statements, then you must accept that if the Father is Lord (kurios) at Matthew 11:25, then he cannot logically also be God as well as Lord! So this ridiculous argument is hoisted by the petard of its own flawed logic! |

you said
Then in verse 6, the text does not state that ONLY God the Father is alone God. The text rather states that there is one God, and that the Father is himself this one God. So Scripture does not contradict the fact that the Son (Hebrews 1: and Holy Spirit (Acts 5:3-4), are also called God in the Bible. Furthermore the Son (Hebrews 1:10) and Holy Spirit (Acts 28:25-27), also possess this divine name YHWH which is applied to them in New Testament quotations of Old Testament verses. So the one God is not the Father alone, but is rather the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. So this problem is resolved if we understand that the terms God and Lord are interchangeable, I said Your conclusion is flawed badly. It does say in 1Co 8,6 there is one God the Father. It does separate God and Lord in this verse also. So they are not interchangeable. 1 Cor 8:6 6        yet for us there is one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we for Him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, through whom are all things, and through whom we live. (NKJ) Now in Heb 1-6 says that when God the Father brings Jesus back into the world(which hasnt happened yet) Jesus will be a God, but not yet. Heb 1:6-9 6        But when He again brings the firstborn into the world, He says: "Let all the angels of God worship Him." 7        And of the angels He says: "Who makes His angels spirits and His ministers a flame of fire." 8        But to the Son He says: "Your throne, O God, is forever and ever; a scepter of righteousness is the scepter of Your Kingdom. 9        You have loved righteousness and hated lawlessness; therefore God, Your God, has anointed You with the oil of gladness more than Your companions." (NKJ) It is obvious that these verses are a conversation between God the Father and Jesus. Now the above verses are clearly the Father speaking to the Son. But in verse 10 through 14 it is the Son speaking to the Father. Heb 1:10-14 10        And: "You, Lord, in the beginning laid the foundation of the earth, and the heavens are the work of Your hands. 11        They will perish, but You remain; and they will all grow old like a garment; 12        Like a cloak You will fold them up, and they will be changed. But You are the same, and Your years will not fail." 13        But to which of the angels has He ever said: "Sit at My right hand, till I make Your enemies Your footstool"? 14        Are they not all ministering spirits sent forth to minister for those who will inherit salvation? (NKJ) Now your idea of Act.The Holy Spirit was sent as our teacher. There is nothing in here that assumes the Holy Spirit is God. Acts 28:25-27 25        So when they did not agree among themselves, they departed after Paul had said one word: "The Holy Spirit spoke rightly through Isaiah the prophet to our fathers, 26        "saying, 'Go to this people and say: "Hearing you will hear, and shall not understand; and seeing you will see, and not perceive; 27        For the hearts of this people have grown dull. Their ears are hard of hearing, and their eyes they have closed, lest they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, lest they should understand with their hearts and turn, so that I should heal them." ' (NKJ) |

Jesus christ Son of the living God.
relpace Jesus With... Moses Son of the living God. Seen as we are all to be Children of God. Or insirt the name of John Peter Paul whoever.. They all preached that We Are jesus Brother. Sooo. Its very simple. We have been chosen not only to believe but to suffer for him. He will make those who overcome the world, as he overcame the world, to be priests to his God, to sit on Jesus thrown, Just as Jesus Overcame and sat on his fathers thrown. For those that think Jesus became God, when he went to heaven.. please read revelation. You will see Jesus refer to God even moreso than in the other gospels. We are to sit on God's thrown, with Jesus, Sitting on Gods thrown doesnt make us God, then how can anyone say it makes Jesus God? sigh... the trinity deception shouldnt keep us from doing good, Though, It has kept me for many years... Im so weak... But in God there is strength. Rock on. WOW looking at this site... WOW people that hate the trinity lie.. Hmm... Though lets not fall for the deception... like, doing good and following is the point. I hope maybe WAAHHHH life is so hard... Im 25 .. I dread life.. my scalps itchy,, my back is supposedly healed now.. My dad came out just like... 1 hour ago and said.. God told me to come lay hands on you and you'll be healed...... I dont think I am... But cant be too sure.. God is artistic,, and .... unpredictable. Ha when i speak openly and How i think.. I dont make much sence. ^^ laterz peeps. |

The Son Of The Living Yahweh | #89 | ||
|
Peace greetings ALL,
I say Messiah the son of man is the son of the living Yahweh. This is all that I am asked to profess or confess in accordance with the fulfilled prophecies concerning him. I do not espouse to such doctrines as "Jesus IS God!, deity of Jesus Christ, Holy Trinity, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit, Eternal Son", or as Yahshua being a pre-existent son that was a co-creator with Father Yahweh in the beginning.
