The Creation Story
Did you know that Genesis 1:1, a sacred Book of the Hebrews, doesn't actually start out with the words "In [the] beginning"? In order for it to start out as in the beginning, it would need to read BARISHONA in the Hebrew, and yet it reads B'RESHIYT which simply means in [a or some] beginning. Genesis 1:1 B'reshiyt bara elohim eth hashamayim ve'eth ha'arets. In beginning [the] mighty [one] created the heavens and the earth. Now notice, Moshe (or Moses) chose to use the singular bara instead of the plural baru. In Hebrew language, when we have a plural noun like elohim, the verb to the noun must also be in the plural. And when the verb is not in the plural but the noun is, we understand that the noun is as a singular. The point in saying this is…? My point is that from the very beginning of the Bible, we see that the true elohim is to be understood as a singular. In fact, EL merely means POWER or MIGHT while ELOHIM merely means PLURAL IN POWER or MIGHT.
Exodus 4:16, 7:1 Moses, a singular being referred to as ELOHIM.
Judges 8:33 Baalberith, a singular being referred to as ELOHIM.
Judges 11:24 Chemosh, a singular being referred to as ELOHIM.
Judges 16:23 Dagon, a singular being referred to as ELOHIM.
1st Kings 11:5 Ashtoreth, a singular being referred to as ELOHIM.
2nd Kings 1:2-3 Baalzebub, a singular being referred to as ELOHIM.
2nd Kings 19:37 Nisroch, a singular being referred to as ELOHIM.
In the Hebrew of Genesis 1:26-27 it's abundantly clear that elohim cannot be a compound deity or a plural deity in any fashion. Let's take a look at it from the Hebrew. Genesis 1:26 …vayomer elohim na'aseh adam b'tsalmenu kidmutanu…Who is elohim talking to? And why does he say in our image and after our likeness? I'll answer this question after we take a look at something else first. We must first understand that elohim cannot be talking with himself because it says vayomer elohim. In order for elohim to be talking to himself it needs to say va'omrim elohim or any other form of the verb, and it doesn't. So, we understand that elohim must be talking to some other being or beings other than a part of himself as the Hebrew makes this crystal clear. Second, let's see what happened in action of this command. ELOHIM speaks and then it happens. Genesis 1:27 …vayivra elohim eth ha'adam b'tsalmo…The Hebrew acknowledges what was just said above; when the action is brought about, it says that elohim made man in his image, not their image. The plural was dropped in the action, thus teaching us that the being/s he was talking to had nothing to do with creating man. Let's look at another passage to shine some light on this one: Genesis 5:1 …bayom baro elohim adam… The Hebrew says, "In the day elohim created Adam." Now notice, it says baro which means he created, but it's not translated as such in this passage because it's followed by the noun elohim. So, we can see that this cannot be a plural deity because if Moshe would have wanted us to understand that it was a plural deity he would have used the word baru.
Isaiah 6, God uses the royal us for Seraphim.
Genesis 3, God uses the royal us for Cherubim.
Genesis 11, God uses the royal us for Angels.
So, elohim can be talking to Seraphim, Cherubim, or some other heavenly being/s that had nothing to do with creating man. Yet, in my theology, this is God, the Father alone, is talking to the Son (his name Hebrew name is Yehoshua, his Aramaic name is Yeshua, his Greek name is hO IHSOUS, and his English name is Joshua and wrong translated as Jesus), informing the Son that he is about to create through him (1st Corinthians 8:5-6; Hebrews 1:1-3; Colossians 1:15-17). So God, the heavenly Father alone, first created the Son (read my John 1:1-18 document), and embodied him, and created through him everything else.
Why We Are On Earth
Many individuals wonder why we are on earth. What's the purpose for them living. Why do people suffer. Why do bad things happen. And so on the questions go. This can be explained easily, if one is only open minded. If you read Genesis Chapter 1, 2, and 3, you'll notice that God, the heavenly Father and no other (the Apostolic Creed), created Eve and Adam, and told them that everything is there's but one tree, which was the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. They were commanded to not eat the fruit of this tree, and no one actually knows what kind of fruit it was, for in that day (this is metaphorical referring to a 1000 years, for that was considered a day back in those ancient times) they would surely die (and they did). Before God created the humans and the earth, he had a plan to create beings who would worship him by their will, not because they were programmed to worship him. But, how are these beings to worship God and do his will, to be obedient to him? So, God our Father decided to create earth and place humans there to be tested to see whether or not they will obey him or disobey him. Now, since God does not tempt anyone himself, he created a being he knew would turn evil. This evil being is called hasawtan which means the adversary (Christians call him the satan). There is no other purpose for this being but to tempt and test all humans here on earth, to see whether they would chose God and his ways or sin and its ways. Now sin is the breaking of the Law (read my article on the ten commandments, for example), so if you sin you disobey God the Father who told his creation, in the ancient times, to obey it. Going back to Eve and Adam and the adversary. God placed the tree of the knowledge of good and evil within the grasp of the first human on earth (Eve and Adam). He, God the Father, knew that Eve and Adam would disobey him and die in that day they would eat of the fruit of forbidden tree, but that was his plan, for he wanted not just two obedient beings, but many, many of them. Also, with the fall of Eve and Adam we only have to be tested some 100 years give or take. So, the adversary went and tempted Eve, and she was deceived, and then she went and got Adam to partake of the forbidden fruit (fruit could be anything, especially in those days, from an actual fruit to something as reading; that is, this could be metaphorical language), and he did. Now, both Eve and Adam fell from living forever, for what that would be unfair to be tested for eternity. When those who obey God's commanded and love him die, they get to rest knowing that they will be resurrected to eternal life. However, does who reject God and his ways, they shall be cast into the Lake of Fire, which is the Second Day; that is, they will be tormented and destroyed in the Lake of Fire. As for those who will be resurrect to life, they shall make it into the World to Come. In this New World, there won't be any suffering, worries, etc, for you would have already overcome the old world and its wicked ways (and now there won't be anything to lead you away from God and his ways). So, we are here on earth to be tested whether we would chose God and his ways or sin and its ways. If you overcome this world and its wicked ways, you will be granted eternal life.
The Promised One-The Anointed Servant of God
I would like for you to read my document on this servant who was promised for a more in-depth explanation of what this holy servant was to fulfill when he would arrive here on earth.
1st John 3:4 Everyone who commits sin is guilty of Lawlessness; sin is Lawlessness.
Romans 2:12-13 All who have sinned apart from the Law will also perish apart from the Law, and all who have sinned under the Law will be judged by the Law. For it is not the hearers of the Law who are righteous in God's sight, but the doers of the Law who will be justified.
Proverbs 28:9 When one will not listen to the Law, even one's prayers are an abomination.
1st Corinthians 6:9-10 Do you not know that wrongdoers will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived! Fornicators, idolaters, adulterers, male prostitutes, sodomites, thieves, the greedy, drunkards, revilers, robbers-none of these will inherit the kingdom of God.
God, the heavenly Father alone, promised through his prophets that he would sent his holy servant, so that those who believe in him and in what he taught and would walk as he walked (1st John 2:6) would be forgiven for all their sins (willing and unwilling) that they have committed. So, in other words, by believing in this servant and what he did and taught, your sinful past will be erased; that is, it won't be held against you anymore. Read Psalm 139:7-8, 1st Kings 8:27, and 2nd Chronicles 6:18; you cannot hide from God for he is everywhere, he's omnipresent. So because the only true God (the Father and no other) is omnipresent, he sees everything you do and say and even think. Therefore, do not fool yourself into thinking you can hide something from him. So, who is this holy servant that was sent to die in your place? This holy servant that died in your place (so you could live by believing in him, what he did, and his teachings) is no other but the Anointed Yehoshua (or the Christ Jesus). I hope you did read my document in the link above, for it explains in detail what he gave to do.
How Eternal Life, Salvation, Is Obtained
[Disclaimer: There really are not steps for salvation, but it is agreed upon that these steps below is usually how salvation comes about into one's life.]
First) You must understand that you are a sinner; that is, someone who broke and Law and breaks the Law (there's more than 600 commandments, not just 10). Therefore, you must acknowledge that you are a sinner and need God's help to stop sinning.
Second) You must understand that the Messiah Yehoshua (or the Christ Jesus) was sent into the world to die in your place (the place where you should be for your sins), and that he did die in your place (so by believing this and his teachings you may have eternal life), was resurrected back to life by his God (and our God), and was granted authority from his God.
Third) You must understand that you cannot come to be accepted by God, the heavenly Father and no other, unless you first accept what his servant did. You must acknowledge that the Anointed Yehoshua is the Master of your life; that is, as one who is superior than you, whom you love and follow, and whom you obey.
Fourth) You must acknowledge that he is the Messiah (or the Anointed One) that was to come, came, and is to return. You must understand that God views this Messiah was his beloved and unique Son.
Fifth) You must pray to God and acknowledge that you're a sinner. You must repent (to be sorry about your sinful ways, to stop doing them, and to strive to never do them again) of your sinful ways. You must understand that the holy servant, the Anointed Yehoshua, died in your place for these sins of yours. Therefore, you must ask the Most High God, the heavenly Father, to forgive you your sinful ways and to help you to stop living in sin.
Sixth) You must understand that God the Father only listens to those who are sincere in doing this. To simply say some prayer and continue living a sinful life without striving to be holy is of no use, it won't help you at all. Therefore, you must believe in your heart and mind that you are to walk holy, to obey the commandments of God, to strive for perfection, to practice discipline.
Seventh) You must pray to the Most High God, the heavenly Father, and ask him sincerely to give you the Holy Spirit which will teach you everything of God, and it will comfort you when you are down, it will give you peace no one else can give you, and it will seal you as a child of God; that is, by the Holy Spirit you are considered to be an adopted child of God, and if a child of God then God is for you. Now, if God is going to be for you (if you love him and obey his commandments) then you surely will have eternal life. You will make it into the World to Come where you will live for eternity in peace. There won't be any suffering, weeping, theft, wickedness, etc.
So, after you do the above, I invite you to read the documents on my website to understand the teachings of God and his ways. I would highly recommend that you get three Bibles and read them together: New Revised Standard Version, New American Standard Bible, and King James Version. These three Bibles, read together, will do you wonders. If you have any questions, just email me, send me a message, or you can ask on my forum (all this is at the top of my website).
May EL ELYON, the Most High God, bless you with wisdom, understanding, and insight into his ways and his teachings. God bless you. Amen; so be it.
